Detailed Description:
The wooden candle boxes are specially hand crafted. Why wood? Because it breaks the mould of convention, it's different and exclusive to Batten Industries. The candle boxes are kept very simple to allow for interpretation into a variety of settings. The dark appearance makes for the perfect contrast to the wax. We find that this combination allows the candle to stand out on a dark wood surfaces but works equally well on a lighter wood finish.

Why use this candle over others? Conventional candles, especially larger ones, create many problems because of the way they burn, for example: Large candles are bought for special places in the home. Holes around the wick are often black from smoke and often the candle wick is skew resulting in a deformed candle which looks unattractive in that special place you prepared for it.
One of the consequences is that people aren't lighting them in an effort to save their candle for longer. The wicks burn away rapidly and once they are finished, the candles are useless and are thrown out. Versatility is limited to the type of candle purchased (i.e. floating, scented, aromatherapy or coloured).

Can I colour the wax?:
Yes, with food colouring and powder dyes. Test it on a small amount of the wax crystals before doing the whole bag.

Can I scent the candles?:
Yes, just pour your chosen essential oil around the wick (not over it) and as the wax melts the scent will burn off like a water burner.

Anything heat resistant i.e.- Metal, ceramic, glass, old candle holders, etc.
