The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company began in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1996. J. Frederic & Vera Cohen, owners of Lamp & Lantern Store (now Lamps & More), saw a void in the retail home market and decided to expand their product line to meet this need.
Fred began his career as a territorial sales rep and later expanded into retail with The Lamp & Lantern store. With the birth of The Hitchcock-Butterfield Company, he further expanded his expertise into manufacturing. Other accomplishments include serving a term on the Board of Directors for the National Home Lighting Institute and the development of Sparkle Plenty, the first spray-on, no-wipe chandelier cleaner.
With over 38 years of sales experience, Fred & Vera offer a wide selection of American made mirrors. Between the Cameo line of wood-framed, custom-sized mirrors and the Classics group of gold, silver and copper leaf finishes, the Hitchcock-Butterfield Company boasts over 200 items in its product line. Each mirror is hand crafted and hand polished and ranges from small bath ovals and rounds to floor-to-ceiling mansion masterpieces. Unlike huge manufacturing plants where owner identity disappears and automated phone systems take over - Fred and Vera remain very much hands-on in the day-to-day operations of their plant, which ensures that their products make a seamless transit; from the placement of your first order to the safe and timely delivery of your new mirror to your home.
